Resumo: The host organization is located in a quite and big city in north of Poland (approx. 400.000 inhabitants) and it is over 660 years old. In the city there is good public transport - bus, taxi, train and tram. There is also the biggest city park in Poland with a lot of attractions whether in summer of winter. 30 kilometres outside of the city there are the Forests: a beautiful place with unpolluted, fresh air. The biggest problems of the citizens are the difficult economic situations. Unemployment rate reaches up to approximately 9,3%.

The Catholic Culture Centre (CCC) is located approx. 15 kilometres from the centre of the town. This district is occupied by over 80,000 people. There is no cinema, theatres, or any other cultural entertainment in Fordon, however, our Foundation with its activities tries to fulfill the lack of cultural life in the district. Moreover, CCC is situated right next to the beautiful natural forest.
We are a catholic organization and are closely connected to the parish "God’s mother the queen of Martyrs". We also have regional volunteers. Because of the huge enquiry of children, youth, disabled, ill, and unemployed people, who come to us regularly, we would like to invite international volunteers to join us in our work with those in need.
The CCC is a non-government educational institution providing after-school activities.
CCC also conducts Kindergarten Club which is fully equipped and furnished for children between 3 and 5 years old. Socio-therapic day room is adjusted to the need of disabled people who are between 14 till about 50 years of age.
CCC employs 9 people full-time, 5 volunteers and 25 people who work as contractors.
Many workers in the Centre speak English and they help volunteers with adapting to the new environment. Ex-volunteers from Georgia and Italy work in the Foundation now. They several foreign languages fluently and also support the volunteers. The EVS co-ordinator of the foundation is in regular contact with CCC. A Students association co-operates closely with CCC. Some of the students are volunteers in it and many of them speak foreign languages.
CCC activities also include occasional events (performances, competitions, meetings once a month) - these have been attended by a few thousand children and teenagers. These events are addressed to the citizens, however some of them are of regional or countrywide range.

We also have groups of regional volunteers GPS who together with international volunteers work with CCC for those in need.
Volunteers live in university dormitories in 2, 3 or 4-person rooms. Dormitories are also located in the district. They are about 5 and 15 minutes on foot from work place. Volunteers receive monthly ticket for transport.
Volunteers get money for food and pocket expenses every month. They prepare meal themselves or go to local bars and restaurants.
Volunteers, who want to cooperate with CCC will get to know the aims and the structure of the organization by supporting its activities. We would like to meet new volunteers, make use of the volunteers’ individual skills, exchange experiences and give them opportunity to develop themselves.
