Resumo: iDEAlITY - Developing European Awareness Through Youth Information - is a Project aimed to host European volunteers. It will be held in Roseto degli Abruzzi (Region Abruzzo, Italy) within the Europe Direct Point and the Youth Information Centre run by our cooperative. The issues that it intends to develop are "European awareness" of youth and “information for young people" and it aims to achieve goals such as: to develop the awareness of young people towards issues of citizenship and European integration; to provide young people with opportunities for active participation in the construction of Europe; to overcome prejudices and fears of diversity; to promote and encourage the mobility of youth; to improve the quality of information towards the majority of young people. The activities of volunteers will last 9 months with the involvement of four Countries participating in the Youth in Action programme. It is open to 3 volunteers who will be involved in all activities typical of an information desk such as, back office and front office duties (especially useful to volunteers wanting to improve their knowledge of Italian), organization of events and seminars, work-shops, info days, exchange of good practice etc. The volunteers will also be in touch with other organizations in their countries of origin in order to establish new partnerships. During all the phases of the project, the volunteers will be assisted and trained by a tutor and a supervisor who, along with the volunteer, will fill in the Youthpass. They will attend daily meetings with their mentor who will also monitor the project, assess the performance of the volunteers and support them in situations of need or potential conflicts. There will also be a constant exchange of information between partners via e-mail, phone, Skype, with the aim of discussing together the various phases of the project.

Perfil: "Our Cooperative wants to recruit not only young volunteers with preceding experience of voluntary service, titles specific or particular professionalisms, but with good attitudes to work in a group and with strong motivation in contemporaries' involvement in actions of promotion of the culture of the dialogue and the peace, in the respect of the differences and the peculiarities of each culture and sensitization of the young people to the themes of the active citizenship and the European unification. The selection of the volunteers will be open and transparent using all the possible channels of communication. The motivations, the personal affairs and the expectations of the candidates will be also valued through telephone interviews or exchanges of e-mail and a continuous contact with the sending organization. The volunteers will independently be select from their ethnic or religious group, from their sexual, political, orientation, etc

Tarefas: The activities of the project of hosting European volunteers of the EVS, will develop in the Centre Youth Information and the Europe Direct Point. The volunteers will gradually involve, collaborate and they will also help the operators and the persons responsible in all the typical and daily activities of the two services: back-office operations, are the foundations of the information. Indeed, local information comes from the back office, which is essentially based on search. (filing of documents, updating websites of Youth Information Office and Point Europe Direct also produces web pages in their native language), production of newsletters and email: The role of volunteers in this activity, which will be incorporated gradually, they will assist operators in daily activities that aim to improve and preserve the quality of information. The volunteers also will also be involved in analyzing, with the members of the cooperative, the utility, convenience, responsiveness of the informations to the needs of young people, They will also be involved in updating Web sites with pages in their native language, both in the Youth Information and Europe Direct point web sites and also in the website of "thousand questions, one Europe" For thiese activities we will ensure the voulnteers a basic education on the various languages used for creating web pages and software; Participate in activities to counter with front-office tasks. The front office (or front line) represents the first line of service for us. The volunteers in this activity will always be accompanied by a qualified operator, they will be trained and slowly inserted in the front office. In detail, in this area, volunteers will be involved in operations that will see more than others in contact with the young users of the service and for that reason it will have an important and significant educational and experimental worth.
