Resumo: Imagina, the Youth House, promotes and organises training and information activities for youth in the town aged between 14 and 30 years. As part of our policy of providing opportunities of participation in international programmes, we have been hosting EVS volunteers who support us in our work for several years. This project includes hosting 4 volunteers for 9 months (October 2011- June 2012). Volunteers will mainly participate in activities in the Youth House, but also in related institutions in Alcobendas. This gives us the opportunity of giving organistions and youth collectives and individuals first hand information and a living model of the virtues of such a training and vital experience as this one. Volunteers will, therefore, integrate in the day-to-day activities of the Youth House to collaborate in the promotion, diffusion and organisation of activities, directed mainly to youth.

Perfil: Profile: volunteers supported and trained by the sending organisation and involved, since the first moment, in the process of search and preparation of the project. They must show motivation and enthusiasm to participate in a European voluntary project, interest of carrying it out in Spain and wish to discover and learn from our culture. Experience with youth work and facility with it are an asset. Open character, as work will continuously done with youth, and people who like to carry out activities with other youth, are participative, dynamic and have initiative. Basic English level to make the relation with other youth easier during the first months.

Tarefas: 1. Ciber: a space of learning and intercultural meeting. Ciberaula is a new space wholly managed by the international volunteers. It is the place where they can propose and carry out any activity, with the support of the staff of the Youth House and the computer equipment. This project is working since October, 2004, has 8 multimedia computers with access to the Internet. The activities that can be carried out are courses of basic computer programmes for immigrants, network games , presentation of the different cultures by the volunteers, etc. We want this to be a place where EVS volunteers can develop their creativity. 2. Youth International Programmes: one of the hosted volunteers at the Youth House is dedicated, with local volunteers, to design and to develop activities that favour the participation of local young people in international projects. With this aim, the volunteer participates in carrying out activities, diffusion of projects and programmes, as well as in the search of international partners. In this project we have organised seminars, exchanges and diffusion activities of international projects. 3. C.A.R. is a centre situated in Alcobendas where asylum seekers live while waiting for both legal and better social situation. Our volunteer wil work in a very intercultural enviroment and will have the opportunity to contact with people from all over the world. As their situation as refugees is quite difficult and sad our volunteer will be there to help them and to make their lives a little bit happier. 4. Imagina tu noche: The voluntareer will be integrated in one of IMAGINA’s working team (one technical supervisor and four animators). He/she will realize social cultural animation for young people between 16 and 30 in the frame of the Saturday night leisure activity called “Imagina tu noche”. He/She will participate on the activities organized every Saturday evening and will help along the week to prepare them, working always in the mentioned group.
