Resumo: The Centre directly provides youth services to over 650+ young people ranging in age from 7 to 25. Programmes are delivered in age appropriate settings with groups for the following: Junior Clubs 7-9 years; Junior Clubs 10-12 years; Post Primary 12-18; Drama Groups 7-12; Drama Groups 12 Upwards; Summer Camps are divided along the same lines. A recent audit shows that on average 1100 individuals pass through the Centre on a weekly basis. This number does not include audiences and or visitors but is made up entirely of people attending the different programmes and activities organised by and in the Centre.  The Centre caters for the complete development of each member providing in its program for the physical; mental and social development of the young person. This is achieved by a balanced program which includes such activities as: Sports (Basketball; Soccer; Badminton; Table Tennis; Volleyball; Uni-Hoc; Pool etc) Music and Drama (Annual Musical production this year our 37th production, Battle of the Bands; Film Nights; exposure to drama pieces) Trips to places of interest (Outside musical/drama productions; places of culture and learning; places of interest and leisure activities) Quizzes; Debates; partaking in community activities like Patrick’s day Parade; People in Need Telethon; visiting the elderly and providing musical entertainment in the homes for the aged. Over the years the Centre has become a focal point for other groups in the community making its facilities available for activities as wide ranging as meditation classes to karate classes. Also availing of the excellent facilities available in the Centre are the following: this year we will be establishing a drop in facility for 12-20 year olds . the project will include the provision of rehearsal space for young bands, a hub for meeting, a kitchen area and tyhe extending of our games room.

Tarefas: Working with young people from all types of social backgrounds (In line with ethos of inclusion in the Centre). The client group includes a high percentage of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds/areas, immigrant population and ethnic groups. There are also groups in the Centre catering for people with disabilities. Assisting in the delivery of a planned programme (Supervision of participants but also expected to get actively involved with the young people and to encourage participation by example) Opportunity to have input into the planning phase of the programme at regular weekly meetings that also address any issues or incidents from the previous week. Management of the Centre is very much a hands and all staff and volunteers are encouraged to discuss any issues that affect them or the Centre not just in formal meetings but during the normal working hours. Recent volunteers have taken on the role of preparing and publishing our newsletter. Training will be provided via the support of the Health Boards (Health promotion and childcare sections) as well as the Midland Regional Youth Services (MYRS). The volunteer will be expected to operate within the structures and procedures in place in the Centre. While at all times there will be staff working with the volunteer if the volunteer has a particular idea deemed suitable for the programme then he/she is guaranteed the full support of the Centre and would be allowed to take the lead role in the planning and delivering of their idea.
