Resumo: The City municipal Youth Services provide leisure time services to young people aged 9 to 17 years old at 20 youth centers around the city. Activities are implemented after formal school time, mainly in the evening and weekend time. Youth centers are places where young people can spend their free time together in a safe environment. There are also fun and guided activities such as cooking, arts and crafts, playing, sports, etc.

During school holidays, we organize camps and various courses. In addition to this, we organize events, trips, and small group activities. All our activities are based on the needs and wishes of young people, supported by professional youth workers.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
The most important aspect of being a volunteer is having a positive and open attitude towards learning new things. We require initiative and activity at work as well as basic skills of working life. Working with young people provides you with a constantly changing environment where no day is alike. We are looking for volunteers with conversational communication skills in English. We appreciate some experience of working or volunteering with young people aged 9 to 18. We wish applicants from diverse backgrounds, including representatives of different genders, as well as people belonging to linguistic, cultural and other minorities.

Tarefas: + To implement activities at the youth center mainly in the evenings and weekends, except for Sundays and national holidays, always with professional youth workers.

+ Activities with young people such as conversations, playing games, cooking, arts and crafts, game tournaments, sports, etc. based on the needs and wishes of young people.

+ Other tasks of the city youth services are to plan, implement and evaluate activities, arranging events, taking part of the trips and summer camps and other possible tasks such as assisting our staff in various tasks, meetings, advertising our activities in social media channels etc.

+ More detailed tasks are planned and agreed upon with the support of youthworker, at the start of the volunteer period. At the end of the project, we give a chance to make some production with the whole volunteering group.

Horário: The work primarily takes place during the leisure time of local youth (mostly afternoons and evenings). You will work about 6 hours per day, 5 days per week, approx. 30 hours a week. You will have 2 days of holiday per month, for the duration of the project.

Condições: You will be accommodated in a shared apartment. You will receive food money in the form of food cards to buy groceries and cook food for yourself. You will also be provided with a travel card for public transportation.
