Resumo: The Youth Centre is a National Youth Centre supported and observed by the Ministry of Education. We are specialised in youth work and our function is to develop the methods used in the field of youth work. We work under the Finnish law covering youth work and by the Ministry of Education.
Our goal is to offer youngsters the possibilities of learning in multicultural environment and finding their own strengths and abilities through international activity. Our work consists of International mobility for young people and those working withyoung people, voluntary services, training courses, International Club activities, advice and guidance on international programmes, project activities and coordination of volunteering projects.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
We are looking for young people with fewer opportunities for the project. The volunteers can for example be unemployed, face educational, economic, social or physical challenges or have low language skills

The participants are young people seeking new possibilities to their lives. The volunteers can be unemployed, face educational, economic, social orphysical challenges or have low language skills. We wish that the volunteers are interested in doing summer activities with children. There is no need of previous experiences just the interest to try it out and learn more!

Tarefas: During the project 10 volunteers from various European countries will carryout summer camps that are open to local and refugee children. The 2025 summer camps offer exciting and multicultural experiences for children aged 7-14, combining adventure, learning, and fun. The Adventure Heroes Camp (June 9-12) blends science and nature exploration, Taste Journey Camp (June16-19) focuses on outdoor cooking and cultural recipes, and Hobby Horse Camp (June 23-26) includes hobby horse riding, obstacle courses, and competitions.
Each camp includes traditional activities like swimming and games, as well as an overnight stay for added excitement.

Volunteers should be prepared for:

Tasks
Summercamps
Volunteers will carry out summer camps that are open to local and refugee children. Children can spend time together at the summer camp doing traditional summer camp activities such as playing, singing, swimming and dancing. Camp is easy and simple way to bring together children from different cultures. Through games and activities it is easier for the children to get to know each other. These shared experiences often lead to long-lasting friendships. At all the camps there will be a camp leader working as a camp leader so the volunteers are not responsible of the camp by themselves. Volunteers will plan and lead, with help of the camp leader (work leader), different kinds of workshops and activities for the summer camps.

Together with the staff, the volunteers will ensure a safe atmosphere for the campers. This means that volunteers are also expected to be responsible and reliable adults for the campers, follow safety rules and be mentally present during working days. It means for an example that you cannot use your mobile phone during working hours, your focus is on the children at all time.

The camp program includes diverse activities:
- Learning to cook in nature
- Trying different recipes from around the world
- Traditional camp activities: swimming, games, and play
- Excursions into the forest and by the sea

Hobby Horse Camp 23.-26.6.
Multicultural camp for children aged 7-14
4 days and 1 night
The exciting and fun Hobby Horse Camp combines speed, fun, and teamwork as the kids ride hobby horses, practice obstacle courses, and enjoy summer in nature. Throughout the camp, the children develop their skills, customize their hobby horses, and create unforgettable moments with other hobby horse enthusiasts.

Horário: The volunteer will work 5 days a week, approximately 35 hours. The working hours are usually from 9-16 including lunch break, but sometimes work times can vary depending on events that weare taking part in. In that case, work can also be in evening time for example from 14.00-20.00 or 7.00-14.00.

Condições: Meals: During on-arrival training volunteers willget breakfast, lunch, dinner and evening snack from our kitchen. After that lunch is served during working days and volunteers get food money to prepare the other meals themselves.

Accommodation: Accommodation is organised in Youth Centre in beautiful summer house by the sea. It is a simple house with no modern comforts: there are not indoor toilets, no indoor shower or running water in the house. Water is available from the well outside and there is an outdoor shower and sauna tent. House is heated with the help of the fireplace and electric radiators. Therefore, it requires patience and flexibility, as volunteers must adapt to a modest living environment. On the other hand, the Villa has a beautiful environmentand offers participants a unique chance to try out traditional Finnish summer cottage lifestyle.

Pocket and food money The pocket money is 7€ / day which will be paid in parts in cash during theproject. Food money are paid every week in cash and divided between cottages.
