Resumo: We are a team of activists for whom current social events, community work and culture are important. In the 1990s, as young students and volunteers, we started a successful non-profit youth initiative. The result of our more than 20 years of work in the small European town.

We host various different forms of community activities and social gathering focused primarily on art, social inclusion, critical thinking, education and community empowerment. We build on our personal experience – we started as young people interested in art and culture, involved in active citizenship and non-formal education and we have grown to become a leading cultural-creative centre in Slovakia.

In the 23 years of our existence, we have organized several thousand community and cultural events, local and international projects, which were attended by more than 300,000 people. Thanks to the content of our program, openness, courage and above all thanks to hosting foreign volunteers, we have succeeded in making our city and country more open to diversity, tolerance, international cooperation, as well as the role and commitment of young people. So far, more than 5,000 young people have been actively involved in the activities we organised.

Perfil: We’re looking for young people aged 18 to 30 who are passionate about art and culture, who open to learn new things, and have a creative mindset. Ideal candidates should be responsible and flexible as each week brings a different schedule with various cultural events. The volunteering period is from 10 to 12 months and our volunteers must be able to communicate in English. For the photography and tech support positions, some prior experience is preferred but not required—you don’t need to be a professional. Most importantly, we value tolerance and openness to different cultures.

Tarefas:
If you're passionate about arts and culture, we have exciting opportunities for you. We're looking for an event photographer, a tech assistant, a social media manager or a graphic designer to help us grow our events and local community. Join the team an iconic venue transformed from an old train station into a vibrant hub for concerts, theater, workshops, festivals, exhibitions and more. We also run a stunning historical building designed by Peter Behrens, now one of the most exciting art spaces in Slovakia. Both cultural venues are run by the NGO that was found by young art students 25 years ago. Our team is dynamic and includes former volunteers from around the world. Be part of something bigger—help shape the cultural scene in Žilina and beyond!

Condições: Volunteers live together in a shared house in the city center, approximately 5-minute walk from both cultural centers. Each volunteer has their own private room, while the kitchen, bathroom, and toilet are shared. We fully cover accommodation and transport to the volunteering site. Every volunteer receives €180 for food and €180 as pocket money monthly. Since both cultural centers are nearby, volunteers usually get around on foot, but we can also help arrange a bike if needed.
