Resumo: (activities with kids)
Our organisation is the department of Kultur & Fritid / Welfare services / Education in our small town. We work for all inhabitants in our municipality; we maintain and create activities in the fields of culture, youth and sports.
We have been doing European youth work for 20 years, mainly by hosting volunteers and arranging European youth exchanges.
The main reason for us to do European youth work is the ever ongoing fight against xenophobia and for tolerance and solidarity, here on local level and on a wider European level.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
We want to give the opportunity to youths with high need and motivation for the project, no matter of previous experience. Proactive attitude, English skills and willingness to initiate activities will be an advantage as the project involves developing and implementing activities. Project is open for participants with fewer opportunities.

Tarefas: The work will mainly be with kids in our municipality, divided in two main parts:
1) Work with kids in kindergarden or after school activities and with youths in our youth house. This will be set up according to the wish and profile of the volunteer.
2) To create and implement workshops on the topic solidarity and multiculturality for elementary schools in our municipality. As we belong to the swedish speaking minority in Finland the volunteer will learn swedish language.
Here in our rural area you will live far away from the big city buzz, but close to the Finnish nature; the forest and the sea. We provide a safe place with a close support to the volunteers and a good environment for learning and evolving.

Condições: The hosting organisation will cover travel expenses according to ESC budget. We will arrange and cover accommodation in own room with shared kitchen in dormitory. The volunteer will get free lunch on workdays and will receive food money (138€/month) and pocket money (6€ /day).
