Resumo: (INCLUSION ACTIVITIES IN A SHELTER FOR HOMELESS PEOPLE)
The hosting organization is a non-profit organization, founded in 2003 and settled, a town in the northeast of Italy about 30 km far from Vicenza. It is made up of 22 worker-members.

Its mission is to promote social equity, solidarity, sustainable development, citizens and youth participation. These purposes are concretized in the area through diversified educational services and activities such as reception, prevention and support services in favor of the most vulnerable, the local community and the social realities of the city, favoring the street and informal meeting places as an observatory.

The beneficiaries of the cooperative are mostly homeless, women at risk of social exclusion and young people.

Furthermore, the organization works with local communities with objectives, such as: combating poverty and violence, developing solidarity and tolerance among young people, promoting intercultural dialogue and peace.

The organization provides 5 main services:
- Temporary residence for homeless people;
- Specific projects for women at risk of social exclusion and victims of violence (Silk Project);
- Specific projects for migrants and asylum seekers (reception and integration of asylum seekers, refugees and holders of subsidiary and humanitarian protection; linguistic and cultural
mediation service);
- Youth participation activities (management information centers, Megahub: career guidance and co-working paths, social bar, socio-cultural animation);
- Administrative services and training to non-profit organizations.

Perfil: Age: 18-30

Tarefas: The volunteer will mainly have the role of supporting educators of the home for homeless in the realization of educational initiatives, aiming to develop autonomy, self-esteem and sense of efficacy, also through specific accompaniments for finding employment and a home in order to promote their social inclusion.

In the first period of service, the volunteer will join the educators in the performance of daily activities of the house (service kitchen, support in the preparation of meals, administrative practices, laboratories, workshops, creative expression, searching for employment, etc.). In this way, he/she can get in touch with guests (who are people with a strong social distress) and to learn the ways of intervention addressed to the empowerment of the person. In a second moment, with the support of animators, he will organize structured educational activities according with her interests and abilities.
The volunteer will have an important role in logistic activities of the organization mainly in collecting food by the markets of the area for the hosting organization.

Moreover, after having known the reality of the territory, the volunteer will study together with the educators the most suitable and creative ways to promote the social integration of guests in the local community, for example through the participation in local festivals (where guests can be protagonists), in sports tournaments, in local initiatives of various kinds, always in the context of a comprehensive social inclusion of disadvantaged people. This activity will also allow the volunteer to meet, to interact with and to make a contribution to the local community.
The volunteer might also be involved in supporting local animators in different kind of projects. The projects in which the volunteer will be involved depends on her interests and capabilities.

Through this project she can get in contact with many groups of young people of the territory and thus establish new relations within the local community.
