Resumo: (ESC Volunteering Team)
The Youth Center is the northern-most of the nine national youth centers in Finland. Youth Centers are supervised by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture in the administration of government youth policy. Our actions comply
with the Finnish youth law. Finnish Youth Centers are specialized in providing a safe and nurturing operating environment for young people to experience, learn, and have adventures that encourage personal growth.
Our values are equality, community, tolerance, multi-culture,respect and protection of life and nature, social, mental, and physical wellbeing.
Organization's main actions are camp schools, international camps, group work days for schools, training periods for special youngster groups, nature camps as well as arranging small meetings
and parties. Our international youth work includes Erasmus+ youth exchanges and projects, and ESC volunteering projects. We have hosted several EVS and ESC long- and short-term volunteers, and youth exchanges.

Perfil: Age: 18-30

- motivated to do all kinds of working tasks
- responsible, and represents Vasatokka as staff member in front of local partners, kids and youngsters
- flexible, since there can be sudden changes to schedules due to weather
- open-minded
- hard-working and always finishes the given tasks
- able to follow schedules, since it is important to be on time when there is a certain timetable
- has positive energy
- has a survivor attitude towards the rural circumstances and location * :)

Tarefas: At first, volunteerteam will have 2-day on-arrival training to get to know each other, becoming work, Finnish and
Sami culture, and Inari area.

Then begins the work - The whole 10 people team will first work at Youth Center by building a Snow World in the Youth Center yard for kids and youngsters to play outdoors. Also, volunteers make social media content to make the project visible all along the project.

On the second week team will be divided into two groups:

- 5 volunteers will work at the world’s northernmost indigenous peoples' film festival on 25.-28.1.
and help arrange film festivals.
- 5 volunteers will arrange an outdoor event on Saturday 27.1. at the Snow World forlocal families and kids, and run a kiosk in the event and guide nice games for kids.

At Film Festival, volunteers' working tasks outdoors and indoors consist e.g. putting up festival setups and decorations, selling and checking tickets, social media marketing, taking down festival setups, cleaning up, etc

Horário: Working hours and free time: Volunteers work mainly 5 days/week, about 6-7 hours per day. At free time, it’s possible to rent Youth Centerrental equipment for small price. Youth Center Game room, Sport hall, and fire-huts are also available
to use when they are not used by other customers.

Condições: Accommodation: in hostel-like apartment with 3 shared bedrooms, shared living room, shower, toilet, and well-equipped kitchen located in the youth center yard.
Towel and bedlinen are provided, and there is laundry machine in youth center. Sauna is available in a different building and will be booked forteam every now and then. Team is in charge of keeping apartment nice and clean for everyone.

Food: Ready meals will be served in youth center dining hall or in village during On-arrival training. Forthe rest of the project time volunteers plan and prepare meals by themselves at the apartment, and also go to grocery to do
shopping. Vasatokka provides food money for days withoutready meals.
Volunteers select couple of people from team to plan a shopping list and shop groceries forthe whole group.
However, there can be more days with ready meals during project, e.g. at the festival days, hot meal will be served forfestival volunteers, and in Youth Center if there are big customer groups in the centerthat have meals served in dining hall, then volunteers will dine also in the dining hall.
