Resumo: (working with unaccompanied minors from migrant backgrounds)
The hosting organization is an Independent, International and Humanitarian Institution, Cyprus founded on the principle of promoting and protecting the rights ofchildren, on the standards of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and European Union Law. The hosting organization is the largest non-profit organization in Cyprus in the
field of child protection, employing approximately 110 professionals, including social workers, youth workers, psychologist, lawyers, educators, trainers, administrative staff etc. The organization focuses on prioritizing children’s well-being and education and takes measures for the prevention of any kind of violence against children while providing psychological and legal support.

Perfil: We are looking for 2 undergraduates or graduates, offering volunteer positions that match the candidates’ academic background, skills and abilities. Particularly, we are looking for young people 20-30 years old having the following work-related skills and characteristics:
• Fluency in English (good level of French also preferred);
• Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Humanitarian Aid, Education, Social Work,
Psychologyor related fields;
• Able to work in a multicultural environment, and to engage in intercultural dialogue and communication;
• Able to work in a team and in a high-pressure environment;
• Willing to work with young people from different nationalities and religions;
• Enthusiastic, hard-working, flexible;
• Time management, organizational and problem-solving skills

Tarefas: The project develops a volunteering framework that is envisioning a volunteer-centered
program forvolunteers to contribute to the daily work of the institution in solidarity activities for the ultimate benefit of the local communities. The program offers 1 month of adaptation, and the opportunity to specialize for 11 months in one of the departments of the Humanitarian Division: Social Work, ChildProtection and Psychology.
Briefly, the volunteers will be involved in multilevel & multidisciplinary interactive work in Homes for Hope shelters with the following tasks: support and administrative activities, and daily care activities regarding the residents of the shelter; the inclusion of migrant children in Cypriots schools and society; and assist in implementation of EU projects and nonformal education activities at the shelter

Condições: ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
Accommodation shared with other ESC volunteers is arranged by the Institution. Food allowanceis 150 € per month, and volunteers also receive personal pocket money of 5 € per day. Travel is reimbursed, and there is a monthly amount allocated for local transportation.
