Resumo: The association starting in year 2000 in Gävle in Sweden. The founder, Moussa Ndiaye, noticed a challenge in the Swedish school, where many children did not reach the educational levels for their class. By starting activities with the children, in the beginning mainly basketball, the organization helped the children to understand the importans of school, and to do your homeworks. The organization Activity Center opened in April 2012 and have today 10 employes. All children and teenagers between 6 and 18 years old are welcomed. The center is located on the central street of the city.

This location has been chosen on account of being available for all the children and residents in the city. The area where we are located in one of Swedens most segregated livingarea where it lives people from all parts of the world. Just in the Activitycenter we have children and staff from a total of 40 different nationalities. The Activity Centre is supposed to be a natural place for people to meet, the place where each one, regardless of background, has the same rights and possibilities. At the same time the place will be a more attractive, active area and a secure place for children and youth to grow up in. The organization goal is that all children that attend our activities will pass school with passing grades. In the center, we help the children with homeworks and schoolwork. If a child needs extra help, we make special schelduals for this child.

All with a good communication with the parents. Activities that the children can do in the center is for example basketball, judo, craftwork, reading, dancing, tecnic and so much more. We offer a total of 21 different activities. We also organize laungagel-essons and gymnastic for the parents in the center, as a way of helping them coming closer to the society. Rapatac has a huge contactnet with everything from sponsores (different companies), and we work with many organizations in Gävle.

Since the Activitycenter opened, we have had visits from the Swedish King and Queen, differens ministers of Sweden and recieved prices for our work with children and youth. Our activities is mostly on local level, but Rapatac is known in many differents part of Sweden. Rapatac also has projects in a village in Senegal called Mbodiene. The group Rapatac for the People, that includes some of the children from the Activitycenter, helps the village with new projects every year. Until now, we have installed computers and printer for their school and build a big marketplace.

The aim of organization is to provide a secure and meaninful growth for children and youth by supplying stimulating leisure pursuits, sport activities, offering help with schoolwork and helping them develop the ability to take responsibility for their actions. The idea is to give the children and young people a good foundation in life and a positive vision of the future. It is of great importance that the children are surrounded by adult role models who acknowledge to every child and emphasize their significance in the spirit of togetherness in order to help them develop confidence in their individual ability.

The organization follows The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The child has the right to participate in leisure, cultural and artistic activities. The child should be fully prepared to live an individual life in society and brought up in the Charter of the United Nations. For instance, there should be no distinction of any kind such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, national or social origin etc. It is very important that the children and youth take responsibility for their actions, since it is a very significant component in their growth.
