Resumo: The host organization is located in a little town (110.000 inhabitants); it is also well connected to the famous art cities thanks to an efficient railway service and to the rest of Italy and some parts of Eastern Europe thanks to its airport. The presence in the city of various Faculties linked to the University brings each year to the city many students coming from all over Italy and also from other European and extra-European countries thus contributing to the creation of a multicultural environment and stimulating the social life and the entertainment offers in the local territory.

Perfil: Is preferable that the volunteer have some kind of experience or a strong motivation to work in the disability field
between 18 and 30 years old.

Tarefas: The volunteers will be gradually involved in the life of the centres managed by the social cooperative which host adult disabled people. The project will be implemented in two different venues, a day centre and a work centre called (from the villages where they are set). The Volunteers will spend some time in both centres according to their attitude and competences, but they can also choose just one: in both cases they will receive all necessary support by the supervisors and social workers. In particular volunteers will be involved in the following:

Day Centre:
- Creative workshops where the disabled people use different materials to create objects which are then sold in local fairs (paper recycling, ceramics, decoupage, ect.). Volunteer will support and help them in the different stages of the artistic process.
- Recreational activities within and outside the centre (playing in the garden, going to the swimming pool, using the web to look for pictures, going to visit some near place). Volunteer will be asked to propose his own ideas and to support the social workers in the organization of the activities according to the disabled people’s personal interests and abilities.
- Drama and musical activities addressed to those disabled people who like music and theatre. Every year the cooperative organizes a performance to which the volunteer will be asked to participate also introducing new ideas or proposals.
- Everyday activities related to the transport of the disabled people from their houses to the centre and back, support during meals and in psychomotricity exercises to which the volunteer will contribute according to his availability.

Work Centre :
- Horticulture activities developed by light disabled or disadvantaged people to produce vegetables, fruits and aromatic herbs to be used in the canteen of the centre, to be sold to other cooperatives and to be processed. Volunteer will be asked to support the social workers in the management of the garden according to the season (sowing, harvest, drying up, etc.) and to help disabled people to carry out their tasks.
- Workshop with aromatic herbs (during rainy days or winter) where dried herbs are prepared and processed to realize product such as lavender boxes, jars with aromatic salt, etc. Volunteer will be asked to support disabled people in these activities.
- Carpentry workshop where wood boxes are dismantled, reassembled and decorated to create nice containers for the products of the cooperative. Volunteers will have to collaborate with social workers and disabled people helping them to realize the different tasks above all during pick events (Christmas, Easter and weddings).
- Everyday activities related to the transport of the disabled/disadvantaged people from their houses to the centre and back, support during meals and in other moments of the day to which the volunteer will contribute according to his availability.
