Resumo: The host organization is a non-profit making organization which develops environmental and heritage conservation projects, through different actions and publics: inclusion work, training work, voluntary work and other actions of sustainable development in rural areas.

For this voluntary project, a group of 14 European volunteers and 2 French volunteers will be hosted. This team will take part in the enhancement of the build heritage through technical and educational activities. A turnover among the volunteers will offer them the opportunity to develop their competencies in both fields.

The volunteers will have the chance to work in two counties. That will be the opportunity to discover local culture and people.

Our organization aims to raise people awareness about our heritage which also vehicles social connections. Built heritage is a great medium to share and federate people on the history of a territory and its people. Heritage also reflects the cultural diversity of our European communities. The main goal of this project is to make the ‘heritage’ topic more accessible to young people in order to develop the participation of everyone to its conservation.

The team of volunteers will take part to several kind of activities :
A/ Technical activities: Conservation work of built heritage on different supports and using different techniques.
The activities will be supervised by the technical leaders of the organization.

B/ Educational activities: Animations and awareness of the preservation and enhancement of Breton heritage, opening up to European heritage and culture among different audiences (young people, local population, tourists). These actions will be according to the interests of young people and can take different forms (stand on market, videos, exhibitions, etc.). A time will also be dedicated to the discovery of the specificities of the region (educational farms, cultural visits ..)

Perfil: Being a volunteer requires the appropriate profile, commitment, sense of responsibility, open minded and availability for the whole duration of the project. Willing to live a collective experience.
The volunteers will have to deal with a mixed group of different nationalities and create relationships with local communities.
Interest for French language and culture.
Physical ability and interest to do outside work
Age: 18-30

Tarefas: The volunteers will have two missions. The renovation of Breton built heritage and the development of relations with locals.

The first worksite will be from July, 7th to 28th. Together with a technician they will repoint the joints of a wall near the Castle.

The second worksite will be from August, 4th to 25th. They will make picketing on the wall inside the old Chapel and stabilize the floor of the linen’s whash-house.

Every day, they will split the team to organize actions toward locals. It might be intercultural café, stand on the market, to shot a film… with different topics : the history of the built heritage, the promotion of the project, European mobility programs..

There will be also days to discover and enjoy the region!

Condições: Accommodation of the volunteers when they are not on worksites: Youth residence in the city . Individual rooms.
