Resumo: The organization is located in one of the largest cities of Latvia according both to the number of population and the total area (72.48 km2). The favourable geographical location of city plays an important role for the development of the city. The advantageous geographical location of the city has enabled it to develop into a crossroads, a significant industry and transit centre of Eastern Latvia.

The ethnic composition of the population is heterogeneous. In late 2009 Russians constituted the majority of the city population-52.7%. The number of Latvians was about three times less, which constitutes 17.6% of the total number of the city residents.

Perfil: Age: 20-30
The person should have been graduated a high school. But of utmost importance is the special requirement: the candidate should be without any serious criminal records, because they will work with kids and youngsters. The official note about this will be required for the project implementation.

Tarefas: * leading English/ German language club, depending from the skills of the volunteer. The club meetings can include games, songs and quizzes, but it’s up to the volunteer’s own creativity, how exactly these events will look like in the end.
* leading/assisting by youth sport/ theatre/music/handmade/painting workshops or sport activities (as ping-pong game, football or competitions)
* assisting by the preparation and organization big events/concerts

The EVS volunteers are welcomed to come up with own ideas and projects. There is a lot of space for own creativity. The working process is going on in the team with the stuff of the school and pupils.
Target groups are schools pupils and their parents. The writing some small articles for the monthly school newspaper can be a task as well.
