Resumo: The organization is a state-approved, elementary alternative school. It follows the law of private schools in the state of Baden-Württemberg. It opened in the school year 2011/2012. The school’s sponsor is the organization Gesellschaft für Bildungsconcepte mbHThis school uses the “reform education” concept (in German, ‘Reformpädagogik’). This concept was developed by Elise und Celestine Freinet, Maria Montessori und Peter Petersen. The school is a “teilgebundene” full-day school. This means, some days the necessary classes are finished at 2pm or 3:30pm; after this there are additional support activities planned. These additional support classes are optional for the students. The school has trustworthy afternoon child care and so, considers work and family life as very important.The lessons at the organization follow the Baden-Württemberg educational plan for elementary schools. Educational ConceptsSocial educators, experienced teachers and parents work together to continuously develop the school’s concepts and rules.The important concepts and rules are:Children have their own individual personalities. These should be supported and strengthened as they develop. The teachers at the organization trust the child’s own ability to grow. So, they give students the time they need for personal development.Learning is a basic need of all people. The teachers at the organization encourage the students when they want to learn. Every child is considered; they can follow their own learning path and at their own speed.Developing social and emotional abilities is very important in society. The teachers at the organization support the students with this. They help the students develop concern and responsibility for themselves and their community. They also help students to be successful in social situations.Learning to discover, live and understand things on your own is an important experience. This is the key to learning-success.
